Since 1982, Implant & Periodontal Therapy has been committed to being at the forefront of the dental industry to provide all patients with the most current and least invasive procedures for all of their periodontal treatments. Our doctors dedicate their time to ongoing education, evaluation and training of advanced surgical methods and technologies to help you achieve a healthy and beautiful smile, with minimal healing time.

CLINICAL INNOVATION

LARGE-SCALE BONE RECONSTRUCTION

When patients don’t have adequate healthy bone to support dental implants due to gum disease, long-term denture wear, tooth defects, injury to the face and other related issues, our doctors might recommend large scale bone augmentation. In the past, this would involve taking a hip or rib bone to assist in rebuilding the edentulous ridge. This procedure would typically be performed in a hospital setting. Today, we are able to build a strong foundation for implants with much less invasive procedures such as bone block grafts and guided bone regeneration, which requires very minimal healing time. All procedures are completed in office.

NON-INVASIVE TISSUE GRAFTING

Have you noticed your teeth looking longer, or having discoloration close to the gumline? Do you have sensitivity when drinking cold drinks? For many people, a soft tissue procedure may help. At Implant & Periodontal Therapy, we are leaders in this area, having done more procedures of this type than any other group in the Tampa Bay area.

While traditional techniques still work great in many situations, patients were often fearful because of pain after the procedure. Fortunately, there are newer techniques that minimize downtime and post-operative discomfort.

Some newer techniques available at Implant and Periodontal Therapy are the "Pinhole Surgical Technique" and the "Tunneling" technique, that do not require taking tissue from the roof of the mouth. Additionally, we offer Platelet Rich Plasma, that further decreases discomfort, speeds up healing time, and improves results. Simply put, we have invested heavily in the newest techniques to give the best patient experience possible.

The techniques are best performed by people experienced in soft tissue procedures of all types. Fortunately, we have all the techniques to give you the best result with minimum downtime and discomfort.

Technology and State of the Art Equipment

Implant & Periodontal Therapy invests in the highest quality equipment available to provide patients with the most efficient procedures while providing a safe and comfortable environment.

HIGH DEFINITION PREXION CT SCANS

New advances in digital technology have made the quality of dental implant treatment even better!  Our doctors use high definition CBCT prexion scans that allow us to measure bone density and place implants in a very accurate manner. The ability to plan out where the implants need to be placed prior to the surgical procedure allows the patient to spend less time in the chair and makes for a more pleasurable experience. All 3 locations of Implant & Periodontal Therapy are equipped with Prexion 3D Scanner so that all patients can take advantage of this technology.

COMPUTER GUIDED SURGERY

For our dental implant patients, Computer Guided Surgery is a new innovation that improves patient care, plain and simple. Computer Guided Surgery allows for exact planning before the patient ever starts the procedure. The Prexion Digital Scan and InVivo Planning Software allow the doctors to precisely determine where the dental implant needs to go. Once the placement is determined, the Surgical Guide is fabricated. This device allows the position the doctors determined to be perfectly replicated, eliminating any source of error.

HOSPITAL GRADE OPERATING ROOM

We built an operating room that incorporates the true sterile technique for dental implant placement. It is the only OR of it’s kind in the southeastern United States.  Designed by an engineering group that specializes in operating room design for hospitals, our OR has a separate air conditioning unit with a HEPA filtration unit to filter out bacteria and viruses to deliver a positive pressure air supply to the room at all times. Prior to surgery, the room receives a terminal scrub, and anyone entering the suite must be fully gowned and masked.
