What are the benefits to patients of computer guided implant placement? Dr. Rasmussen explains below:

I have been involved in computer-guided implant placement for the past 15 years, and the real advantage of computer-guided surgery is it allows us to take a look at what the end result should be first and then plan the surgery based upon that end projection. It also allows us to practice different scenarios and different simulations in terms of how to actually do the procedure, and I think what it means to the patient, not only the precision of the outcome, but the fact that because we have planned out the surgery on the computer first, we can do the procedure in a much more efficient and expedient fashion, and what that means to the patient is less time in surgery, less pain, less swelling and better outcomes.
